Michael Lawrence
General Manager & COO

Michael has been in the hospitality industry for more than thirty years, beginning in food and beverage operations with ClubCorp after serving as an officer at Fort Sam Houston. He worked up through their ranks to vice president over the next ten years (mostly in Texas) before joining a 32-property Marriott franchise owner/operator in Pittsburgh, where he worked as vice president of human resources for five years. Michael joined the world-class Boca Raton Resort & Club in 1989 as vice president of human resources. Within their parent corporation of Boca Resorts, he went back into club management as vice president of club operations, with scope over the large club component of the resort which included 36 holes of golf, plus responsibility for two exclusive golf resorts in Fort Lauderdale and Naples, Florida. In 2005, Michael took over Berkeley Hall Club, a property-owners-association and club right off Hilton Head, and joined Colonial just two weeks before the 2006 Tournament! Over the years, Michael has completed two separate undergraduate degrees (including one at UT/Dallas), plus a graduate degree in Hospitality Management at a private school in south Florida.

Markus Rentzing
Clubhouse Manager

Markus came to Colonial Country Club in July 2006. He earned a baccalaureate degree in hotel management from the Hotel Management School in Heidelberg, Germany. He gained experience at the Maritim Rhein-Main Hotel in Germany, the Regent Palace Hotel in London, the Frankfurt Marriott Hotel, and Berkeley Hall, South Carolina. He held management positions at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Florida, and the five star five diamonds rated Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Markus is a certified Wine Manager, member of the International Wine Society and member of the CMAA (Club Management Association of America). He resides with his wife Miriam in Arlington.

Rita Eatherly, CMP
Director of Club Relations

Rita Eatherly has been with Colonial Country Club since 1985. In addition to being the Director of Club Relations, which includes all areas in the member relations arena, she also supervises the reception desk operations and is a member of the Professional Club Marketing Association. Rita resides in Fort Worth and has two children, Taylor (25) and Thomas (23).

Alexis Groesch
Special Events Manager

Alexis came to Colonial with more than ten years of combined experience in event management, marketing, public relations and community relations. After completing her degree in communications at Mary Baldwin College, Alexis worked for the new NHL franchise Nashville Predators as Community Relations Manager. For her six years with this organization, she worked closely with community leaders, team management and players to build relationships between the team and the Nashville community; handling media promotions, player appearances, fundraisers, promotional “road trips” to a dozen competitor cities, fundraising golf tournaments and public awareness campaigns. Alexis’ resume also includes tenure with General Motors in Irving and the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Fort Worth. When her husband’s job took them to Seoul, Korea for 18 months, she worked as Community Services Chair for the American Women’s Club and the US Embassy; and worked as a volunteer at the Holy Family Adoption Center. Alexis and her husband, Rick, reside in Haslet with their two puppies, Cass and Lia.

Harry Leventhal
Controller

Harry Leventhal is a Certified Public Accountant who joined the Colonial Country Club staff as Controller in December 2003. He grew up in Dallas and received a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and a MBA in Accounting from the University of North Texas. Harry came to Colonial with 15 years of experience in the private club industry serving as Controller at full service country clubs in Midland, Texas and Fishers, Indiana.
Harry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of CPAs and is a member and currently serves as President of the North Texas chapter of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals. He resides in Fort Worth with his wife, Judi, and has three children.

Celeste Cathey
Human Resources Director

Celeste arrived at Colonial in Summer 2007. A graduate of the University of Texas Permian Basin, Celeste has worked in the DFW area over 15 years in the Human Resources arena. Her experience encompasses a variety of industries such as public accounting and staffing and includes great companies such as Southwest Airlines, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Weaver and Tidwell. She is a member for the Society for Human Resource Management as well as the Fort Worth Human Resources Management Association.
